Why are there more leads than actual abandoned checkout calls made?
Last updated: June 8, 2026
Context
When reviewing an abandoned checkout flow, you may notice that the number of leads appears high, but the number of calls made is significantly lower than expected. This can be confusing if you're trying to understand how many customers actually went through the abandoned checkout flow.
Answer
This is expected behavior. All customers who begin the checkout process are added as leads — including those who go on to complete their purchase. When a customer completes their purchase after starting checkout, the abandoned checkout flow is automatically cancelled for that lead, so no call is made.
To verify this, you can check the status of individual leads:
Navigate to your leads list and filter by leads with an idle status.
Click View Lead on any of these leads.
Check the campaign status — if it shows cancelled, it means the customer completed their purchase, and the abandoned checkout flow was not triggered for them.
In summary, the difference between the total number of leads and the number of calls made reflects the customers who successfully completed their purchase before the abandoned checkout flow could begin.
