A2P DLC Compliance and "Operating in the US or Canada?" field

Last updated: October 7, 2026

The Operating in the US or Canada? toggle starts the registration that US text messages need. This article shows the fields, the steps after you publish, and the messages you can see.

What the toggle shows

  1. Open your campaign.

  2. Select Company → Information.

  3. Turn on Operating in the US or Canada?

Outcraft shows three sections. All fields are required, except where noted.

Company Details

  • Legal Company Name

  • Company Email

  • Type of Legal Entity

  • Company Registration Authority

  • Registration Number

  • Stock Exchange and Stock Ticker (required only for a Public Corporation)

Company Address

  • Address, City, State/Province, ZIP Code, Country

Company Representative

  • First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone

When the toggle is on, the Terms of Service Page and Privacy Policy Page fields on the Compliance page also become required. Both URLs must be on the domain of your Website URL. If Country is United States, enter a valid ZIP code and a Phone number in +1 format.

Tip: Enter your details exactly as in your official registration records. Twilio compares them.

What happens when you publish

  1. Click Save & Publish (the button shows when you have unpublished changes). Then click Publish.

  2. Outcraft shows Checking Changes... while it checks your details with Twilio.

  3. If a check fails, Outcraft does not publish the campaign. It shows Some Company Details Still Need Attention. Click Review Issues.

  4. If all checks pass, Outcraft publishes the campaign and sends your details to Twilio for business verification.

  5. After Twilio approves your business, Outcraft starts the A2P registrations. You do not complete an A2P form.

Warning: Outcraft starts no registration if the toggle is off. Outcraft also starts no registration if you save without publishing. Trial accounts cannot publish.

Messages you can see

  • A red banner on the Information and Compliance pages: We couldn't verify some of your company details.

  • A message in the affected section, for example Check your registration number.

  • A banner on the Campaigns page: Company details need attention, or We couldn't complete verification. The second banner means you must contact support.

Outcraft does not show a Pending or Approved status to customers.

Resubmit after a rejection

  1. On the Campaigns page, click Review company details.

  2. Correct the fields that the messages show.

  3. Click Continue until you reach the Compliance page.

  4. Click Resubmit for Verification.

  5. In Ready to Resubmit, click Resubmit for Verification.

The window states that final verification usually takes 2–3 business days. This is the only review time that the product shows.

If you leave the toggle off, or Twilio does not approve

Outcraft does not send SMS from a US phone number until 3 hours after Twilio approves your A2P campaign registration. Before that time, Outcraft skips all SMS steps for the lead. In the lead Events window, the event is SMS Skipped with the reason "A2P campaign registration is not yet active on carriers". Calls and email continue.

Canada

The toggle name includes Canada, but Outcraft has no separate Canadian registration. You can enter a Canadian address. Outcraft assigns only US phone numbers to the A2P registration. The SMS check looks at the country of the sender number, not the lead. SMS from a Canadian sender number does not use this check.

Accounts that cannot see the toggle

Accounts created through the Shopify app marketplace do not show the toggle. These accounts cannot start the registration. Contact support.

Geo Permissions

Geo Permissions is a separate cause of undelivered SMS. In your campaign, select Advanced → Geo Permissions. If the SMS switch for a country is off, Outcraft skips SMS to that country. Contact support to turn on a country that shows Country is restricted.
