Connecting Attio as a lead source

Use Attio to start Outcraft campaigns for the people in your Attio workspace. You set one Attio field on a person, and Outcraft starts the campaign.

Before you start

  • You need an Attio account that can authorize an app in your workspace.

  • One Attio workspace can connect to one Outcraft account only.

  • The campaign objective must be Book Appointment, Send Information, Qualify Lead, or Client Reactivation.

  • Each Attio person needs an email address or a phone number.

Connect Attio

  1. Create a campaign.

  2. On the Where Should This Campaign Get Leads From? page, select Attio.

  3. Click Connect Attio Account.

  4. Approve the access request on the Attio page.

  5. Wait for the message Attio account connected successfully!

The page shows the Connected badge when the connection is active.

Add Attio to the campaign

  1. Open Lead Source → Lead Source Events.

  2. Click Activate Attio Campaign.

  3. Enter a Dispatches limit. Leave the field empty for no limit.

  4. Enter Cooldown (days). The value must be from 30 to 360.

  5. Click Create.

  6. Turn on the Is Enabled toggle.

Warning: The Is Enabled toggle is off after setup. Outcraft starts no campaign until you turn it on.

Outcraft adds a text attribute to your Attio people. The attribute is named Outcraft Active Campaign ID (outcraft_active_campaign_id). Outcraft also registers a webhook in Attio. The webhook tells Outcraft when a person is created or when this attribute, the name, the email address, or the phone number changes.

Choose how leads enter a campaign

  1. Click How to connect Attio events.

  2. Click Copy ID.

  3. In Attio, open a person.

  4. Paste the ID in outcraft_active_campaign_id.

  5. Save the person.

Outcraft imports the person as a lead and starts the campaign. You can also set the field with an Attio automation.

Outcraft does not start the campaign when one of these conditions is true:

  • The lead has a campaign that is in progress or not started.

  • The lead had a campaign from the same trigger in the last 30 days.

  • The lead asked not to be contacted.

  • The lead does not match the campaign start conditions.

To filter people, use start conditions. See How to Use Start Conditions.

Stop a campaign from Attio

Clear outcraft_active_campaign_id on the person and save. Outcraft stops all running Attio campaigns for that person.

Warning: Outcraft reads the field as a number. A value that is not a valid trigger ID has the same effect as an empty value.

What Outcraft maps from Attio

  • First name, last name: from the Attio name.

  • Email: the first email address.

  • Phone, country code: the first phone number.

Outcraft also lists your Attio person attributes as merge tags. The default tags are first_name, last_name, email, phone, country_code, timezone, and agent_name.

Tip: Test each custom attribute tag on a test lead before you launch. A tag can show N/A when Outcraft cannot find the value.

What Outcraft writes back

Outcraft adds a note to the Attio person for each call, email, and SMS message. The note title is Outcraft AI - Call, Outcraft AI - Email, or Outcraft AI - SMS. The note contains the direction, the status, the date, and a View in Outcraft AI link.

Outcraft does not write tasks, statuses, or Do Not Contact values to Attio.

Troubleshooting

If no campaign starts, check these items:

  • The Is Enabled toggle is on.

  • The Dispatches limit is not reached. Click Reset counter to set the count to 0.

  • The person has an email address or a phone number.

  • The field contains the ID from Copy ID.

To change the limit or cooldown, click Edit.

The campaign page has no Disconnect button for Attio. To stop new leads, turn off the Is Enabled toggle.
